(translated by: Mary Ann Lee) News, PHLPost Courier, October 2015 The Philippine Postal Corporation, spearheaded by the Postal Payment and Services Division together with Mr. Antonio Oseo, Phlpost Operations Department, launched the Postal ID Mobile Data Capturing service. This project aims to bring the Postal ID service closer to the people. According to PMG Josie Dela Cruz, the project is Phlpost’s effort to reach those who wish to secure the Postal ID but do not have the time to go to the post office especially those who are currently employed. This project was made possible thru the partnership between Phlpost and Filmetrics Corporation, the service provider for the Postal ID. Private companies, organizations, and government agencies will be given priority to avail the Mobile Data Capturing Service. They will simply make a request to Phlpost that they need the said service to be conducted in their office or locality. It is expected that this project will augment the existing 260 regular data capturing stations located at selected post offices nationwide and also in response to the clamor of thousands of Filipinos who wish to acquire the new Postal ID.
