THE Philippine Postal Corporation (Philpost) hosted a corporate social responsibility program over the weekend at the Gawad Kalinga Village in Barangay Santa Ursula Betis in celebration of the second year anniversary of the improved postal identification card (ID).
The event included the mobile capturing of chosen Gawid Kalinga Community for their respective postal identification cards, video gallery highlighting the Postal ID uses and benefits, feeding program of underprivileged children and school supply giving to children of Gawad Kalinga community. The Hilario Sr. and Cristina Salas Gawad Kalinga Village were the selected recipients of this year’s corporate social event. The beneficiaries of the village make a living out of fishing, sale of scrap materials and scavenging. The activity aimed to promote the use of the improved postal identification card. Philpost said the improved postal ID is now infused with physical and biometrics-based security features, making it the most secure and accessible government-issued ID today. Philippine Postal Corporation’s (PHLPOST) very own Postal ID celebrates its 2nd year this month of May 2018. In line with this is a fun online activity made for the public.
With the theme “Postal ID, Twice the Fun Kaarawan,” PHLPOST aims to encourage the Postal ID users to participate by disseminating relevant information through effective service and content quality - relatable and engaging. One of its events is the Online Activity: 2 Good for U, Postal ID 2nd Birthday which will make use of the social media channels – Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter – as a platform. All Postal ID users can join this activity by creating a video message that will showcase how the Postal ID changed your life – its impact and importance whether personal, business or leisure. ID holders should like Postal ID’s social media accounts and post their video there with the hashtags #PID2GoodforU and #PID2Bday. Five winners will be chosen via electronic draw and will be announced on June 18 through the official Postal ID Facebook page. An email notification as well as private message will also be sent to the account of the cardholder used upon joining. The lucky winners will get a PID gift pack, 9 Nike Big Mouth, and Hyperfuel water bottles worth P7, 000.00. Activity period is from May 14 to June 15, 2018 only. The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has successfully participated in the Abs-Cbn Caravan held in Tayabas Quezon last May 04, 2018 by offering free postal id to first 20 residents of Tayabas in Quezon province.
PHLPost’s participation is in line with the second year celebration of the Improved Postal ID, which has physical security features such as a ghost image of the applicant and hologram of the running mailman. These new features allow tellers or frontliners to verify the authenticity of the card immediately and easily without having to use special equipment. A special ink that illuminates when subjected to ultraviolet light called the UV ink has also been infused on it. Kapamilya TV shows such as Umagang Kay Ganda, Tapatan Ni Tunying, Salamat Dok, DZMM and Mission Impossible has partnered with PHLPost along with other government agencies, private sector and non-government organizations to conduct free medical check-up and treatment, legal opinion and public service for the benefit of the community.
