As respite for the oil price hike that was implemented on August 23, 2016, Philippine petroleum company, Flying V, in partnership with the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost), will give discounts on its fuel and lubricant products to Improved Postal ID cardholders.
Cardholders can get up to P1 discount per liter on gasoline and diesel, and P5 discount per liter on lubricants.
As stated by Flying V Vice President for Retail Network Operations Jesica Raymundo, customers just need to present their Improved Postal IDs to Flying V pump attendants to receive discounts.
“Flying V pump attendants would check motorists’ Postal IDs to ensure it was not a fake before they can avail the discount.”, Raymundo added.
Furthermore, PHLPost Assistant Postmaster General Luis Carlos said that the partnership is not exclusive to Flying V. According to him, the government-owned and controlled corporation is still looking for other companies to partner with.
“It’s not exclusive to Flying V. We cannot do exclusivity since we are in government.” Carlos stated.
Carlos also mentioned PHLPost’s existing partnership with other companies ranging from spas, optical shops and restaurants nationwide. As of the moment, PHLPost has 28 merchant partners that give discounts and freebies to cardholders.
The Improved Postal ID is the most secure government-issued identification card today. It has physical and biometrics-based security features such as the QR Code and the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) that protect the cardholder’s identity and assure safe transactions.
Filipinos and foreign residents may apply for the Improved Postal ID in any of the 1 300 post offices nationwide. It costs 504 inclusive of VAT and delivery fee. ###
